Agalma

The Agalma is the largest of the four loudspeakers in the Hørning collection and represents the pinnacle of Hørning Hybrid Systems’ high-efficiency loudspeaker design. It combines six powerful 8-inch bass drivers with a Hørning-designed 5-inch field-coil full-range driver and a dedicated cone tweeter.

The six 8-inch bass drivers are responsible for the Agalma’s deep, powerful and highly controlled low-frequency performance. Their large combined radiating area allows the bass system to move air effortlessly while maintaining the speed and precision required for a coherent presentation.

Instead of relying on a conventional electrical crossover network, the Agalma uses an acoustical filter to integrate the bass drivers with the full-range driver. The loudspeaker is built around Hørning’s H.D.A.Q.C.S. cabinet principle, in which the individual drive units are acoustically loaded within the cabinet before contributing to a common horn-loaded output. This carefully controlled acoustic loading allows the drivers to work together as a coherent system while maintaining a fast and direct response.

At the heart of the Agalma is a Hørning-designed 5-inch field-coil full-range driver. Its powerful and precisely controlled electromagnetic motor is designed for fast diaphragm response, contributing to the immediacy, dynamics and tonal body of the loudspeaker.

The combination of these design elements gives the Agalma everything needed for a truly engaging musical experience — deep and powerful bass, tremendous clarity, exceptional dynamics and precise timing. The result is a large-scale, highly transparent and natural presentation that brings both the impact and subtle details of the music to life.
